Nearest working payphone to the Eiffel Tower (Although there is one positioned directly under the tower (pictured below), it is for the moment not accessibledue to some works). In the Summer months this place is heaving with tourists from all parts of the world. Coaches stop to offload their travels here. You will get an answer if it is not engaged when you call.

Another one with a vie of Notre-Dame although it is further away. With this one I would like to say that phone boxes are still bery much in use here in Paris. I am unsure why this is the case. As in almost every other part of Europe and the Western world their use has diminished increasable. On a negative note every box I found has been vandalised in some way or another, but I am glad they are getting used to make calls.

The number listed is for this payphone, but when calling it the payphone shows no sign and does not ring. So in the sense of this site it is pointless. Never the less it is a odd new addiction to the payphone world. It can be used for conventional outward calls just like any other payphone, but also enables users to browse the net with a fully functional web browser for free! It would say it some how sponsored by Orange the mobile phone company.

The number listed is for the payphone nearest the bin. This is a great addiction as it is the nearest one I could find to the famous Notre-Dame in Paris. Also, it is used quite a lot by the assistants in the souvenirs shop right next to it. In one of the shots you can see the towers of the Notre-Dame in the background.

Rings loud with the light flashing. Has to be noticeable as the drivers sit in their cabs waiting for a call. It will get the attention from all around and providing a taxi is waiting, you'll get an answer.

I love these payphones here at Piccadilly Circus underground station. They hold fond memories for as I used to pass them on a regular basis. Of-shot there many empty banks where at least a dozen payphones hung. They were removed by BT as the need for payphones is diminishing. However, these are still often used, mainly by tourists.

This number is for the payphone in the middle. Very busy place, but you do get the odd person or two waiting in this area it's the only quite stop in the this tube station. However this whole station is due to be refurbished for the new London Crossrail (http://www.crossrail.co.uk/) line planned for 2012.

In case you didn't already know, there's an election campaign going on in the UK. Although this box won't get you an answer. The picture shows a message of how this box is squashed between two political campaign banners. Reflects the way some people feel when walking the streets.

And yet in one of the pictures, you can in the distance see a conservative campaign poster holding it's own against the onslaught of parties with socialist/enslavement ideals. The Green party has a good agenda when it comes to the environment but shows it's lazy weakness by adopting socialism for the rest of it's agenda.
